Youth Action Day for The Campaign For Summer Jobs
February 2, 2016
(Albany, NY - February 1st) “How many of you don’t know what your talent is just yet?” Democratic Conference Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins asked an audience of over 300 students hailing from the five New York City boroughs. These students came up to the Capital District for the annual Youth Action Day for The Campaign For Summer Jobs--some of them sure of what they want to be in the future, while others were uncertain.
But the Leader assured them that because of programs like the Summer Youth Employment Program, where they may discover their talent in the many industries they get to work in, including government, law firms, hospitals and small businesses, it will be alright. Referencing the late Whitney Houston, the Westchester Senator assured then that the Democratic Conference understands how essential it is to see children as the future, to “teach them well, and let them lead the way”, and that she will continue to help students as long as they promise to keep going further to find their talents, and achieve their dreams.
