This year’s State Budget included an increase in funding for the Nonprofit Infrastructure Capital Investment Program (NICIP). An additional $50 million has been added to the NICIP which brings the available funds for construction and technology-related projects, to a total of $100 million.
This program is intended to target capital projects that will help to improve or maintain the efficiency and accessibility of nonprofit human services organizations around New York State. The program was expanded due to increased interest and the high number of applications submitted.
Nonprofits with a unique Employer Identification Number, a Taxpayer Identification Number or a SFS Vendor Identification Number may qualify.
Requests for Grant Applications (RFA’s) are now available through the Grants Gateway. All applications must be submitted no later than 3:00 PM on September 29, 2016.
Applications that have been previously submitted will not be up for consideration and must be re-submitted.
The anticipated award date is November 1, 2016 and the estimated contract start date is March 1, 2017.
DASNY will host a Webinar on Thursday, September 1, 2016, 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. This will give them time to address any questions and to clarify specific elements of the updated NICIP.
