First Day of School

Great to join with Mayor Bill de Blasio, First Lady Chirlane McCray, New York City Schools Chancellor Carmen Fariña, and educators at P.S.156/I.S. 192 in Brownsville to welcome students for the first day of the school year. Education is near and dear to our communities. It is the foundation of our citizenry, our workforce, and our future. The Equity and Excellence for All initiative's key areas - Academic Excellence, Student & Community Support, and Innovation - touch on the healthy development of our community's young people and seeing these commitments through promises to give every student the opportunities they deserve.
