Vital message of inclusiveness and resolve from colleagues and community leaders in response to recent violence. We gathered in Brownsville in solidarity with neighborhoods across the city and spoke of the need to stand together as a community in the wake of a recent violence – a stabbing attack in Crown Heights, a reported suicide in Brownsville, and the tragic intimate partner violence on Staten Island that took the lives of a mother and two children, leaving a third child gravely wounded.
Working with the distinguished leaders gathered today - Brooklyn Borough President Eric L. Adams, NYC Council Members Laurie Cumbo, Mark Treyger, and Jumaane Williams, 43rd Assembly District Leader Geoffrey Davis, Devorah Halberstam, mother of terror victim Ari Halberstam, and Evan R. Bernstein, Regional Director of the Anti-Defamation League New York – and working with many more leaders, advocates, and community residents across New York, we will have peace on our streets.
