I am shocked and horrified at the sight of two gunmen dressed as Orthodox Jews opening fire at diners in the Sarona Market. After decades of terrorism, we have seen an escalation in this past year with stabbings and violence using automobiles directed toward Israeli civilians.
We hoped new Israeli security measures could prevent such violence. Nevertheless, this brazen shooting in the heart of Tel Aviv has introduced a renewed level of terrorism, sickeningly applauded by Hamas.
We call on the community of nations and all members of civil society to condemn this terrorist attack in the strongest terms and respond to it as they have to the terrorists attacks that have tragically taken place in Paris, Brussels and beyond.
We mourn these victims and send our deepest condolences to their families.
