February 26, 2016
(Middletown, NY)-Senator John J. Bonacic (R/C/I-Mt. Hope) announced today that he has secured a $50,000 grant for the Village of Bloomingburg to help pay for the installation of sidewalks throughout the Village. The grant money was secured through the State Municipal Grant Program which was included in the Fiscal Year 2015-2016 State Budget. The Village of Bloomingburg is in desperate need of repairing their aging sidewalks in various major areas, and this funding will help them to complete that work.
“The lack of sidewalks in high trafficked areas in the Village of Bloomingburg can cause dangerous situations for pedestrians,” said Senator Bonacic. “These funds will help increase pedestrian safety, and also save the Village of Bloomingburg taxpayers money.”
“The Village of Bloomingburg is grateful to Senator Bonacic for securing these funds for sidewalk repair, which will increase the safety of our residents,” said Village of Bloomingburg Mayor Frank Gerardi.
