Senator Bonacic Announces $50,000 Grant to the Pocatello Fire District for Repairs to the Firehouse
March 9, 2016
(Middletown, NY)-State Senator John J. Bonacic (R/C/I-Mt. Hope) announced today that he has secured $50,000 for the Pocatello Fire District, to help make much needed improvements to their firehouse. The funding was secured through the State Municipal Grant Program, which was included in the Fiscal Year 2015-2016 State Budget. The funding will help with the Fire District’s overall plans to design a new drive-thru equipment bay, and add a second floor, which will consist of a training room, and office area for future company officers. Also, Pocatello plans to add additional space to assist with community shelter in the event of an emergency.
“I’m pleased to have been able to secure this funding for the Pocatello Fire District, which will allow them to better serve their residents,” said Senator Bonacic. ‘The men and women of the volunteer fire service, selflessly serve our local communities, and are very deserving of financial support.”
“I would like to thank Senator Bonacic for securing this funding for the Pocatello Fire District. This money is a real shot in the arm for our fire district, and will allow us to continue to provide lifesaving services,” said Pocatello Fire Commissioner Ronald Broas.
