(Middletown, NY)-Senator John J. Bonacic (R/C/I-Mt. Hope) is pleased to announce that he has secured a $50,000 grant for the Town of Delaware to help with the construction a new Town Highway Department Building. The grant was secured through the State Municipal Grant program, money for which was appropriated in the 2015-2016 State Budget. The Town has already purchased land in order to relocate their current Highway Department facility, which is prone to flooding. This $50,000 grant will help with the construction of a new building on that property.
“I’m pleased to have been able to secure this grant for the Town of Delaware,” said Senator Bonacic. “The men and women of the Highway Department deserve a proper facility, not one prone to flooding. This grant will improve the operations of the Highway Department, and also save the taxpayers’ money.”
“Senator Bonacic has always been a friend to the Town of Delaware, and I want to thank him for helping secure this grant for the Highway Department,” said Town of Delaware Supervisor Edward Sykes. “I am proud of the work that our Highway Department does every day on behalf of our residents, and I am glad to see that their facility will be improved.”
