Senator Bonacic Announces $50,000 Grant for the Town of Masonville for the Refurbishment of Sidewalks throughout the Town
March 10, 2016
(Middletown, NY)-State Senator John J. Bonacic (R/C/I-Mt. Hope) announced today that he has secured a $50,000 grant for the Town of Masonville to use towards the refurbishment of sidewalks throughout the Town. The grant was secured through the State Municipal Grant Program, which was funded as part of the Fiscal Year 2015-2016 State Budget. Several of the sidewalks throughout Town have deteriorated significantly over the past 25 years, and the current condition creates a major safety condition for the walking public.
“This grant will serve two vitally important needs by improving pedestrian safety, and saving the taxpayers’ money,” said Senator Bonacic.
“Masonville is a very small town, and in these hard economic times, it is very difficult to find additional town funds to perform necessary infrastructure funds for needed repairs,” said Town of Masonville Supervisor Michael Spaccaforno. “Thanks to Senator Bonacic we obtained the funding necessary to repair our towns sidewalks and ensure the public’s safety. Senator always delivers his help when Masonville has problems. Our town thanks him.”
