Senator Bonacic Announces $50,000 Grant for the Town of Walton
May 2, 2016
(Middletown, NY)-Senator John J. Bonacic (R/C/I-Mt. Hope) is pleased to announce that he has secured a $50,000 grant for the Town of Walton for the conversion of a freightliner truck to a plow truck. The grant was secured through the State Municipal Grant Program, funding for which was appropriated in the 2015-2016 State Budget. This grant will help the Town of Walton retrofit a recently required government surplus truck to a snow plow, allowing the Town to better serve its residents.
“In difficult financial times, municipalities must find innovative ways to provide services to their residents,” said Senator Bonacic. “That’s why I am pleased to have secured this grant for the Town of Walton, because it will not only save the Walton taxpayers money, but also because it takes an outdated Town resource, and improves it for more efficient utilization.”
“On behalf of the Town of Walton, I would like to thank Senator Bonacic for his continued support of our community,” said Town of Walton Supervisor Charles Gregory. “This grant will be instrumental in accomplishing the retrofit of our recently acquired government surplus truck to be used as a snow plow.”
