(Albany, NY)-State Senator John J. Bonacic (R/C/I-Mt. Hope) is pleased to announce that he has been appointed to serve on three joint budget sub-committees, tasked with negotiating language in the 2016-2017 State Budget. Senator Bonacic has been appointed to the Economic Development subcommittee, and will also serve as an alternate on both the Environment/Agriculture/Housing, and Public Protection/Criminal Justice/Judiciary subcommittees. The joint subcommittees give Senator Bonacic the opportunity to work closely with his colleagues in both the Senate and Assembly, to have a say in the final budget language.
“I’m pleased to join my colleagues in the Senate and Assembly in serving on these joint subcommittees,” said Bonacic. “The Senate Budget Resolution that I voted for is a fiscally sound blueprint, that save taxpayer’s money, substantially boosts education funding, and reestablishes parity in infrastructure funding between upstate and downstate. I look forward to working with my colleagues to help ensure the final budget is in the best interest of all New Yorkers.”
The subcommittees begin meeting March 16th.
