(Middletown, NY)- Last week, Senator John J. Bonacic (R/C/I-Mt. Hope) joined his colleagues in government at a grand reopening ceremony for the Scotchtown Avenue Bridge, which connects the town’s of Wallkill and Goshen in Orange County. The bridge was shut down in 2007 due to structural deficiencies. The 330-foot-long bridge, over which roughly 4,800 vehicles pass daily, has been down to alternating single lanes since then. The $5 million project was funded 80 percent by the federal government, 15 percent by the state, and 5 percent by the county.
