Senator Bonacic Joins Governor Cuomo, Mayor DeStefano and Local Officials to Announce a $10 Million Grant for the City of Middletown

(Middletown, NY)-Senator John J. Bonacic (R/C/I-Mt. Hope) was pleased to join Governor Andrew Cuomo, City of Middletown Mayor Joseph DeStefano, and other local elected officials, and business leaders yesterday to announce that the City of Middletown has been awarded a $10 million grant from the Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI). The DRI was a competition run by the local Economic Development Council’s that allowed over 100 cities throughout New York State to compete for three separate $10 million grants. The City of Middletown’s application was one of the three chosen statewide, and the grant money will go towards a variety of things that continue to revitalize downtown. Senator Bonacic spoke at the event and thanked Governor Cuomo for his commitment to upstate, and all also thanked the leaders in the City of Middletown for their commitment to improving the lives of their residents.
