Big Flats, October 25--State Senator Tom O'Mara and other state and local officials joined representatives and employees of Bucher Emhart Glass Manufacturing Inc., for the grand opening of company's new, approxiately 107,000 square foot manufacturing facility in Big Flats.
Bucher Emhart produces testing and inspecting equipment used by glass container manufacturers around the world. The company’s expansion will keep more than 100 manufacturing jobs in the Southern Tier region.
O'Mara said, "Our ongoing local and state focus on building and strengthening the Southern Tier's foundation of manufacturing continues to produce results with the new Bucher Emhart Glass Manufacturing facility in Big Flats. It's maintaining more than 100 good jobs in Chemung County, producing other economic opportunities and, equally important, it continues to deliver a strong and hopeful message for the future of regional manufacturing. I look forward to continuing to work closely with our Southern Tier REDC and the Cuomo administration to secure these smart and successful investments for the Southern Tier."
