Senator O'Mara joins host Liz Benjamin on "Capital Tonight" on Time Warner Cable News, tonight at 8:00 p.m., to discuss Governor Andrew Cuomo's recent vetoes of the following pieces of legislation he sponsored this year:
-- S8045/A8202 to establish a new "Upstate Transit Funding Board" within the state the Department of Transportation (DOT). O’Mara has been at the forefront of this critical issue for the future of rural public transportation. He said that Cuomo’s veto keeps thousands of Upstate residents at risk of losing a public transit system they rely on for many necessities; and
-- S7669/A9614, which O'Mara sponsored together with Southern Tier Assemblywoman Donna Lupardo (D-Endwell), to require periodic inspections by licensed professional engineers to ensure the safety of parking ramps throughout New York State. The legislation, which was endorsed by the American Council of Engineering Companies of New York, was approved by the Assembly and the Senate in June.
The interview will re-air tonight on TWC News at 11:30 p.m.
