Ithaca, N.Y., November 14—State Senator Tom O’Mara (R,C,I-Big Flats) today released the following statement upon the announcement that Martha E. Pollack has been selected at Cornell University’s 14th President:
"I appreciate this opportunity to congratulate President-elect Pollack and look forward to meeting with her in anticipation of her upcoming tenure. Cornell University plays a central role in the educational and economic success of the Southern Tier and Finger Lakes regions, particularly in key sectors including agriculture, high-tech entrepreneurship, rural affairs, and research and development. The University holds a critical leadership role in building, guiding and carrying out so many locally based and statewide programs and services, and we all look forward to fostering an even stronger partnership moving forward,” said O’Mara, whose 58th Senate District includes Cornell University.
