Senator Montgomery honors our veterans at the Brooklyn War Memorial

Senator Velmanette Montgomery, Assemblywoman Jo Anne Simon and Councilmember Stephen Levin join the Cadman Park Conservancy to commemorate Memorial Day at the Brooklyn War Memorial. The event honored Brooklyn's living WWII Veterans and recognized the 11,500 Brooklyn residents who gave their lives serving in the Second World War. Senator Montgomery was joined by 2016 New York State Senate Veterans Hall of Fame inductee Leslie Lewis and his son, Robert.
The ceremony included a WWII Aircraft Flyover, a performance by U.S. Navy Ceremonial Band, a Wreath Laying Ceremony & Taps by the U.S. Air Force Honor Guard, the U.S. Air Force Drill Team, presentation of Honors to Brooklyn WWII Veterans and performance of "God Bless America" by the American Bombshell Singers.
