June 6, 2017
Albany, NY - On Tuesday, June 6th, Senator Stewart-Cousins spoke at the Minority and Women-owned Business Enterprise (MWBE) Coalition press conference to show her support and dedication to removing obstacles that prevent MWBEs, who are oftentimes innovators, to achieve success. There are currently 10 states that are growing MWBEs – unfortunately, New York is not one of them. At the press conference, the MWBE Coalition stated their commitment to the economic empowerment of women and minority-owned businesses, and Senator Stewart-Cousins agreed, stating that in order for New York to remain progressive, everyone, especially women and minority business owners, must have a seat at the table.
