Senator Stewart-Cousins Recognizing John "Jack" Lotz for Office for the Aging 2017 Senior Citizens Day Honoree

Albany, NY - Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins recognized John “Jack” Lotz of Yonkers as the New York State Office for the Aging honored him during the 2017 Senior Citizens Day Celebration in Albany.
May is National Older Americans Month, a month dedicated to honoring senior citizens and celebrating their unique perspectives and lives. Every year the New York State Office of the Aging recognizes senior citizens, like Jack, who have made extraordinary contributions to their communities.
Jack is a Yonkers native, a veteran of the Korean War, and an actor who has boasted membership in the Screen Actors Guild since 1978, appearing in American classics like “Raging Bull” and “The Sopranos” and fulfilling the role of stunt driver in countless other works.
Jack has also served in a leadership capacity with the Yonkers Central Committee of Veterans Organizations, the New York State Korean War Veterans, and the Korean War Veterans. He has organized a number of large-scale events for both the Veterans State Nursing Home and the Federal Nursing Home upstate in Montrose. He has also created a fund with the Yonkers Veterans Post to support homeless veteran; founded the Medal of Honor Ceremony; helped the Yonkers Central Committee of Veterans secure a location for the Yonkers Veterans Museum; and helped organize the Veterans March on Washington, D.C., to demonstrate support for mandatory healthcare for all veterans.
