"It is painfully obvious that the ironically titled "America First" budget proposal, which the current administration released yesterday, does not put the interest of millions of middle class and working class American families first. This budget calls for increasing defense funding at an unnecessary and disproportionate rate, including wasting billions of dollars to build the futile and inefficient border wall on the U.S.- Mexico border while drastically cutting funding for critical domestic policy programs in the areas of education, transportation, energy, housing and health. This administration even had the audacity to propose cutting "Meals on Wheels", a program that delivers meals to senior citizens in need. I call on members of the House and Senate to strongly repudiate this heartless budget proposal and fight for a budget that truly puts the American people first."
