Bedford Union Armory Hearing at City Hall

As I have related before:
Critical that a decision that will impact our community for years to come has community input. All stakeholders need to remain keenly aware of neighborhood concerns and act on those concerns.
Shelters are not the solution for our housing crisis. We need to build affordable. The Bedford Union Armory represents a key opportunity to build 100% affordable and secure real affordable and low-income housing in our community.
Affordable housing should not be living in a shelter. Affordable housing should not be traded off to finance a recreation center. Truly affordable housing can and should be union built. And importantly, truly affordable housing should be within reach of our community's residents - no one should be marginalized, displaced, or pushed out. We must pursue true affordable housing and uphold the common-sense values of our community.
