Faith Leaders Join Together to Uplift Community & Overcome Challenges

December 5, 2017
Our Clergy Recognition Luncheon welcomed dozens of faith leaders from across Central Brooklyn today. We had an opportunity to discuss challenges facing our neighborhoods, including public health, housing, immigration, and obstacles to community well-being. Really powerful message on the importance of keeping up the fight against HIV/AIDS and working together so no one is marginalized. Thanks to all the participants, our guest speakers, luncheon sponsor Gilead Sciences, and our gracious hosts at Full Gospel Assembly.
I was also grateful for the opportunity to recognize the many contributions of our neighborhood faith leaders; our houses of worship serve as important service institutions in and of themselves, and additionally as pathways to connect the public with resources to overcome challenges held in common.
