Brooks Honors Fallen EMS Responders
Sen. John Brooks
May 23, 2017
Today, Senator John Brooks honored the dedication and sacrifice of Emergency Medical Services responders in a memorial ceremony held on the Empire State Plaza in Albany. The ceremony was held as part of EMS Week.
During the ceremony, three heroes were added to the EMS Memorial: Stephanie B. Potter of Moira, Norman Valle of the Bronx, and Larry Fuller of Jamaica, Queens.
Senator Brooks, a former Fire Chief, remarked, “EMS responders show up to help others during their most desperate moments. They are quiet heroes who leave their families, the comfort of their home, and miss events without hesitation when they are called to duty. Day in and day out, they make sacrifices to protect our most vulnerable, and never ask for anything in return. There are no words that could ever fully express my gratitude for the sacrifice made by these heroes and their families.”
