Senator Bonacic Announces $50,000 Grant for the Town of Warwick
February 10, 2017
(Albany, NY)- Senator John J. Bonacic (R/C/I-Mt. Hope) today announced a $50,000 grant for the Town of Warwick for the purchase of a new backhoe for the Town’s Department of Public Works. The grant was secured through the State Municipal Facilities Program, funding for which was appropriated in the 2016-2017 State Budget.
The Town of Warwick has a 1984 backhoe that is used extensively for road repairs, water and sewer repairs and public works construction projects throughout the Town. The grant secured by Senator Bonacic will help the Town purchase a new, replacement backhoe.
“This grant will allow the Town of Warwick to continue making necessary infrastructure improvements throughout the Town,” said Senator Bonacic. “The new backhoe will not only improve operations at the Town DPW, it will save the Town taxpayers money.”
Town of Warwick Supervisor Michael Sweeton said, “Once again Senator Bonacic has helped the Town replace a vital piece of equipment that we otherwise would not have been able to fund this year. This assistance to obtain a new backhoe will ensure that the Town Department of Public Works can complete critical repairs on our roads and water/sewer systems.”
