Senator Bonacic Announces the State is Now Accepting Applications for Round Two of the Downtown Revitalization Initiative

(Albany, NY)- State Senator John J. Bonacic (R/C/I-Mt. Hope) is pleased to announce that the State is now accepting applications for round two of the Downton Revitalization Initiative (DRI). The 2017-2018 Enacted budget included a new $100 million round of the DRI, providing a $10 million award to ten new communities to develop downtown strategic investment plans.
“I would encourage every municipality in the 42nd Senate District to apply for this funding opportunity,” said Senator Bonacic. “This funding can be a catalyst for development throughout New York and serve as a boost for communities in need.”
Applications for the DRI can be found online at, https://regionalcouncils.ny.gov/content/mid-hudson. The application is a fillable document that can be downloaded and saved for your records but must be submitted electronically to the Mid-Hudson Regional office at: nys-midhudson@esd.ny.gov. Please note that applications longer than eight pages will not be accepted, and there will not be any attachments accepted.
- Submission Deadline: All applications must be received electronically to the Mid-Hudson email address nys-midhudson@esd.ny.gov by June 14, 2017 no later than 4:00pm.
- Deadline for REDC's to nominate their selected community to the State is July 14, 2017.
- Applicant interviews: Please note that if an application is accepted for consideration by the MHREDC applicants selected may be invited to present their application to the Council at an interview. Additional instructions for interviewees will be provided once they have been selected. Interviewees must also be prepared to have any presentation items ready for a potential interview, which would be no more than 10-15 minutes.
