Senator Bonacic Delivers Opening Remarks at Opioid Conference in Sullivan County

(Middletown, NY)- State Senator John J. Bonacic (R/C/I-Mt. Hope) delivered operning remarks this morning at a conference in Sullivan County on opioid addiction. The “Local Solutions to a National Opioid Crisis Prescription Drugs and Heroin” conference was sponsored by the Sullivan County Health Department and took place at Bethel Woods Center for the Arts in the Town of Bethel.
The conference brought together elected officials, public health experts, law enforcement agencies, faith based organizations, and community groups to discuss ways to work together to end the prescription drug problem in Sullivan County. Senator Bonacic, a member of the Senate’s Joint Task Force on Heroin and Opioid Addiction, discussed legislation that the state has passed in recent years to help combat this epidemic, as well increased funding in the last several years for heroin and opioid addiction.
