July 11, 2017
Empire State Development announced today that HP Hood will purchase an idle 363,000 square-foot dairy processing facility and repurpose it to produce extended shelf-life beverages. The company plans to invest $200 million over several years. The expansion is expected to create 230 new jobs, as well as 524 construction jobs.
State Senator Michael H. Ranzenhofer has issued the following statement:
"The dairy industry is a major driver of our local economy, and now Genesee County will be home to one of the largest branded dairy operators creating hundreds of new jobs. I commend HP Hood for transforming an idle facility into a $200 million investment."
