Albany, N.Y., May 8—State Senator Tom O’Mara (R,C,I-Big Flats) and Assemblyman Phil Palmesano (R,C,I-Corning) will host the Watkins Glen Girls High School Basketball team at the Capitol on Tuesday, May 9, where the team will be honored by the Senate and Assembly.
The 2016-2017 Watkins Glen Girls Basketball Senecas captured the program’s first-ever New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA) championship when it defeated Port Jefferson, 65-63, on Sunday, March 19 at Hudson Valley Community College in Troy, New York.
Tuesday's visit to Albany will be highlighted by a recognition of the team’s achievement on the floor of the Senate and Assembly. The Assembly session is scheduled to begin at 2:00 p.m. and can be viewed live HERE. Today's Senate session is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. and you can watch it live HERE.
