Albany, N.Y., February 28--In the New York State Senate Chamber this afternoon, state senators shared their congratulations and heaped their praise on the Maine-Endwell Little League baseball team that won the 2016 Little League World Series last summer. The team was also honored with the "Jack Losch Little League Baseball World Series Team Sportsmanship Award."
The team was hosted at the State Capitol today by their Senate representative, Senator Fred Akshar, who sponsored an official Legislative Resolution (J677) which reads, in part, ""The hallmarks of the Maine-Endwell Little League Team, from the opening game of the season to participation in the World Championship, were a brotherhood of athletic ability, of good sportsmanship, of honor and of integrity, demonstrating that these team players are second to none..."
The Senate unanimously adopted today's Resolution.
Congratulations to the players and their parents, coaches, administrators, volunteers and the community at large who supported them every step of the way! You made the entire Southern Tier and all of New York State proud -- what a fantastic achievement!
