New York State had 6,597 reported cases of Lyme Disease last year, according to data recently released in the New York State Department of Health’s 2016 Communicable Disease Annual Report. That’s an increase of 59 percent from 4,155 in 2006.
In the Southern Tier, Chemung County had 108 diagnoses per 100,000 residents; Schuyler, 110; Steuben, 69.7; and Tompkins, 122.9.
