Senator Montgomery, Assembly Member Simon and Council Member Levin call on the New York City Educational Construction Fund to extend the comment period for 80 Flatbush Avenue project

In response to community concerns, Senator Velmanette Montgomery, Assembly Member Jo Anne Simon and Council Member Stephen Levin wrote to the New York City Educational Construction Fund (ECF) to request an extension of the comment period for the Draft Scope of Work for the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the proposed 80 Flatbush Avenue project. the proposed replacement for the KhaliI Gibran International Academy.

The ECF and Alloy Development proposal for 80 Flatbush Avenue calls for the construction of two skyscrappers, a public elementary school, a public high school, a cultural facility and commercial and retail space  bounded by Flatbush Avenue, Schermerhorn Street, Third Avenue and State Street. The extension would allow concerned community members more time to participate in the scoping process and submit comments on the project .
