Senator Montgomery congratulates Principal Lena Gates, Assistant Principal Kesha Townsel, faculty, staff and the entire P.S. 5, Dr. Ronald E. McNair school family upon the occasion of their designation as the recipient of the National Principal Leadership Institute’s School Innovation and Change Award (SICA). This national award is given annually to recognize schools that rose from underperforming to exemplary. In 18 years that the award has been in existence over 950 schools from across the 48 states have been awarded.
