Uplift Immigrant Communities
Jesse Hamilton

Eight years ago today, Haiti was struck by a catastrophic earthquake that took hundreds of thousands of lives. This week, the resident of the White House spit on their memory and the entire population of Haiti. And of Nigeria, South Africa, Morocco and beyond. I can't even bear to repeat his language. The resident of the White House disparages many countries that have one thing in common: Their residents are black and brown.
It is my duty to stand up for all of my constituents, and I cannot remain silent when someone uses vile language about our community. I call on every elected official to stand up and denounce Trump.
