Senator Serrano and Colleagues Remember Victims of Pittsburgh Tragedy
October 30, 2018
The Senator stood alongside Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr., the Jewish Community Relations Council of New York, and other colleagues in government for a prayer vigil to honor the victims of the tragedy at the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh and to stand against intolerance and hate.
The despicable, anti-Semitic act of violence that took place in Pittsburgh goes against everything that defines us as a nation— our values of diversity, equality and respect. A synagogue is a place of worship, where communities come together for both celebration and solace, and should never be the site of such hateful acts of terror. This is an attack on all Americans, and we must strongly reaffirm that religious discrimination and bigotry have no place in our society."
