Lynda Bryan is a community-involved, hardworking mother and grandmother who currently serves as Town Clerk in the Town of Halfmoon. As a young woman and single mom in the 1970s, she started her own business, successfully operating a florist shop from her home while singlehandedly raising her children. Ms. Bryan’s generous spirit and kindness meant that she always was there to lend a helping hand to others and put their needs above her own.
For 25 years, and with the help of her sisters and friends, Ms. Bryan has organized Christmas parties for the residents of Bishop Hubbard Senior Apartments. She gives her time and provides materials at a senior complex where the residents make Boxwood trees for the holidays. In addition, she has worked at the Halfmoon Senior Center craft fair and helped the Center obtain a new senior van.
Ms. Bryan can often be found at the Clifton Park-Halfmoon Public Library, working on the Two Towns - One Book program. Her love of history and the community in which she has lived her entire life led her to be named President of the Halfmoon Historical Society where, among many projects, she organized a historic gowns display. Ms. Bryan has worked tirelessly on community events, including the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Moving Wall and currently on the historical markers program for the Town of Halfmoon.
Since 2011, Ms. Bryan has volunteered as Secretary to the Saratoga County Town Clerk’s Association and is always ready to lend advice and assistance to new town clerks. Her strong work ethic and willingness to help others, wherever needed, has earned her the respect and admiration of all those with whom she comes into contact – whether in her role as Town Clerk, as community advocate or as a devoted mom and grandmother.
