Marcee Rubinstein is a true advocate for children and her community.
After 14 years as a Speech-Language Pathologist in New York City, Ms. Rubinstein devoted over 25 years of her career to BOCES, representing a 40-year commitment to helping and educating children. She was first elected to the East Meadow Board of Education as a Trustee in 2009 and quickly won re-election. In 2012, she was elected Vice President.
While raising her sons, she became involved in the PTA, serving in every office and ultimately being elected President of both the Special Education PTA and the East Meadow PTA Council. Additionally, she serves on the executive board of the Nassau County Region PTA as Scholarship Chair. Ms. Rubinstein has worked on numerous district committees, including Compact for Learning, Planning and Management, Budget Advisory, and Special Education.
Ms. Rubinstein is a co-founder and has been a co-coordinator of the Special Education Resource Center and Library, a member of East Meadow Kiwanis Club, where she currently serves as President, member of the East Meadow Chamber of Commerce, Council of East Meadow Community Organizations, the Carmen Avenue Civic Association, the Community Association of Stewart Avenue, and co-advisor for the East Meadow Aktion Club, a service leadership program for adults with disabilities, to name a few.
Ms. Rubinstein received both her undergraduate and graduate degrees from Brooklyn College in speech therapy. Even in retirement, she still works with people, especially those with special needs, and gives her time as a speech consultant.
Ms. Rubinstein resides in East Meadow with her husband, Barry. They have two adult sons, Lonny and Marc, and a daughter-in-law, Ashley.
