Dear Friend:
This past week, we marked the passing of President George H. W. Bush and honored his sacrifice, personal loyalty and service to our nation. We honor and salute his commitment to decency and civility, in spite of our differences. I send my deepest condolences to his family.
Last Monday, I had the honor of voting with my Senate Democratic colleagues for my longtime friend and colleague State Senator Andrea Stewart-Cousins for Majority Leader of the New York State Senate. It was a historic day for New Yorkers. Read more about the new NYS Senate Majority Leader-elect in the section below.
Thank you to the more than 100 people who have RSVP'd for my upcoming Annual Holiday Open House on Thursday, December 13th! If you haven't had a chance to RSVP, click here. More details about the event are available in the 37th District News section below.
Last night many celebrated the first night of Hanukkah, and as I lit the first candle with my family, I looked ahead to the many candle lightings throughout the District.
With the many upcoming tree lighting ceremonies and holiday parties throughout the district, I hope to see many of you soon.
As always, please don't hesitate to reach out to my office if we can help you with an issue at 914-934-5250 or smayer@nysenate.gov.
Warm regards,
Shelley B. Mayer
