Ortt Joins the Niagara Chocolate Company for Grand Opening

Today, Senator Rob Ortt (R,C,I,Ref-North Tonawanda) joined Mary Ann Hess, owner of Honeymoon Sweets, to celebrate the grand opening of the “Niagara Chocolate Company.” Originally opened in 1913, the Niagara Chocolate Company will now be back in operation and produce local chocolate products from over 100 years ago. Some of the original products include chocolate covered Tiscuits with toasted almonds, block-a-chunk with almonds, and dark chocolate Triscuits. The company will also have historic republished booklets and postcards from 1913.
Sen. Rob Ortt (R,C,I,Ref-North Tonawanda) said, “Congratulations to Mary Ann and the Hess family on the opening of a project nearly a decade in the making. Our area is home to some incredible history and stories of the past, and the reopening of the Niagara Chocolate Company is just an additional way for people to be reminded and reconnected with our roots.”
Assemblyman Angelo J. Morinello (R,C,I,Ref-Niagara Falls) said, “Congratulations and best wishes to Mary Ann and her family and staff on the grand reopening of the Niagara Chocolate Company. It is befitting that Mary Ann and her family resurrected an iconic Niagara Falls business symbol. They have constantly promoted the City of Niagara Falls and for that, we should all be grateful. WE LOVE CHOCOLATE!”
Mary Ann Hess, Owner of the Niagara Chocolate Company said, “After so many years of hard work, I am proud that this project has finally come to fruition. I am so happy that I can help make our past a part of our future."
