March 16th Community Update from Senator Shelley Mayer
March 16, 2019
Dear Friend:
The State Senate, Assembly, and Executive are in the midst of state budget negotiations, and on Wednesday, March 13th, the Senate released its One-House Budget Resolution. I was proud to vote in favor of the Resolution which includes historic support for Foundation Aid funding for public schools throughout the state. Though I may not agree with every provision in the proposal, the Resolution is forward-thinking, balanced, and reflects a significant commitment to local municipalities, underserved communities, and taxpayers. Read more about the One-House Budget Resolution in the section below.
On Thursday, March 7th, I was proud to vote in favor of a package of bills to support small businesses throughout the state. Together, these bills create new financial tools for small businesses, give small businesses and local communities a greater voice in the regulatory process, and establish new resources to prevent crime. Read more about each of these bills in the section below.
Please join me on Saturday, March 23rd, for my 3rd Annual Women's History Month Celebration at The Rye Arts Center. The event will recognize women from the 37th Senate District who have made substantial contributions to the community. Click here to RSVP.
As always, if we can help you with an issue, please do not hesitate to reach out to my office at 914-934-5250 or smayer@nysenate.gov.
Warm regards,
Shelley B. Mayer
