On October 26th, 2019, The 400 Foundation, Inc. recognized the women who have helped move us FORWARD and calling the faith community to come together and lead the way for real and meaningful progress though eocnomic development and political mobilization.
As 2019 marks 400 years since the inception of slavery in America, the 400 Foundation, Inc. will be honoring women leaders who have helped make various strides for communities of color.
2019 marks the 400th Anniversary of Slavery in North America. It's been 400 years and the time is now to bring the church, elected officials, and community together to go FORWAD in 2020.
The distinguished honorees included:
- Hon. Letitia A. James, 67th Attornery General of New York
- Congresswoman Yvette Clarke, 9th Congressional District
- Senator Velmanette Montgomery, 25th New York State Senate District
- Assemblywoman Tremaine Wright, 56th New York State Assembly District
- Assemblywoman Inez Dickens, 70th New York State Assembly District
- Reverend Dr. Que English, Co-Pastor of Bronx Christian Fellowship
- Reverend Dr. Elaine M. Flake, Co-Pastor of Greater Allen AME Cathedral
- Divinah "Dee" Bailey, Founder of Watchful Eye
The 400 Foundation is a five-borough, faith-based campaign, established and led by pastors and clergy across New York City whose congregants and communities continue to suffer from 400 years of injustice.
