Senator Montgomery and Senator Jackson sponsor Caucus Weekend Workshop “Dismantling Systemic Racism In Education: Opportunities To Succeed From Pre-k To State University Of New York (SUNY)”
February 14, 2019
Join Senator Velmanette Montgomery, Senator Robert Jackson, the State University of New York Educational Opportunity Program, Alliance for Quality Education and Citizen Action Caucus Weekend for a Workshop on “Dismantling Systemic Racism In Education: Opportunities To Succeed From Pre-k To State University Of New York (SUNY).”
Deeply entrenched institutional racism, classism, and generational poverty continue to plague Black, Brown and low income communities across New York State. Access to a high quality education is still one of the most effective solutions to combat these obstacles and challenges. How can NYS step up to protect public education from the destructive education policies of Trump and DeVos? Now is the time to invest in the resources and programs our children need and deserve.
The New York State Association of Black and Puerto Rican Legislators, Inc. (NYSABPRL) was founded by legislative caucus members as a non-political, charitable organization. The purpose of the NYSABPRL is to promote the common good, social and general welfare of the community; foster and maintain an interest in racial tolerance in the world; to encourage the development of the community and promote economic growth. This year's Annual Conference convenes February 15-17, 2019 in Albany, New York.
