Senator Velmanette Montgomery is proud to receive a perfect score on the EPL/Environmental Advocates' 2019 Environmental Scorecard. The Scorecard is created by Environmental Advocates and tracks the voting history for bills that impact our state's environment. With this past historic legislative session, many important strides were made in protecting New York State's environment.
For almost five decades, EPL/Environmental Advocates has been a leading voice on issues impacting our state's environment. Each year, EPL/Environmental Advocates tracks the voting records of the New York State Legislature on bills that could help or harm our air, land, and water and publishes them in our annual scorecard, known as the Environmental Scorecard.
This year, EPL/Environmental Advocates looked at 35 bills that they believe would help protect our environment. As they view the voting history, each year they formulate a score which represents a Senator's efforts to improve the overall well being of our environment. Senator Montgomery along with several other members of the Democratic Conference recieved perfects scores, further illustrating the forward-thinking environmental priorities of the Conference.
