On July 2, Senator Biaggi joined 32BJ SEIU members and Senator Michael Gianaris for a rally in Astoria, Queens calling for the Legislature to pass her bill S6266C to enact the Healthy Terminals Act, and provide essential airport workers with a supplemental wage benefit to acquire healthcare without falling into poverty. Delaying the passage of the Healthy Terminals Act in the wake of COVID-19 has cost us one too many lives. Our essential airport workers on the front lines of exposure must have access to the healthcare they need to protect themselves, their families, and the travelers they continue to serve throughout this pandemic. Not knowing when a second wave of the virus will hit New York, we must pass the Healthy Terminals Act now to ensure our essential airport workers are armed with the healthcare services they need to safely do their jobs.
