Skoufis Responds to Live Nation’s New Ticket Refund Plan
Sen. James Skoufis
April 18, 2020
“Live Nation, which owns Ticketmaster, has backed down in response to us calling out their deceptive attempt to rip off New Yorkers and Americans. They will now honor refunds for all events that have been canceled, postponed or rescheduled due to the pandemic.
“It’s unfortunate that it took pressure from lawmakers and an outcry from the public to simply do what is right, but at a time when many of our neighbors need their own money to survive, this is welcome news.
“My Senate team and I are continuing our investigation into ticketing companies and their overall practices; I look forward to examining exactly what transpired with Ticketmaster’s policy change as well as receiving documents we have requested and obtaining their testimony at our forthcoming hearing.”
