Skoufis Statement on Hudson Valley Phase One Reopening
Sen. James Skoufis
May 23, 2020
“I’m glad to report the Mid-Hudson region has met all the benchmarks required to begin Phase One of reopening this Tuesday, May 26. This is the first step in building back our economy and building back stronger while continuing to protect the public’s health. As we move forward, it’s important that we all continue to respect CDC guidelines, including social distancing, and wearing a mask in public when we can’t be socially distant.
“My deepest gratitude goes out to everyone who continues to be there for our community when we need them the most: health care workers, first responders, and all essential workers
“Phase One’s reopening includes construction, manufacturing, retail curbside or in-store pickup, wholesale trade, and all agricultural services. Phase Two will follow suit so long as there is no spike in COVID cases, something that continues to be closely monitored.
“My team and I remain committed to supporting anyone and everyone who is facing difficulty during this tumultuous time. I continue to encourage constituents to reach out to us at skoufis@nysenate.gov and 845-567-1270.”
