Voting Information for the NOV 2020 General Election

It is absolutely vital that we are able to safely exercise our most fundamental democratic right to vote in the November election, and have the assurance that our votes will be counted. Look up your voter registration status online 

---MOVED RECENTLY? YOU CAN VOTE AT YOUR NEW ADDRESS!---
If you recently moved, and you are registered to vote anywhere in New York, you can vote at your new address thanks to a new law! At the voting site -- either early voting or on election day, see below -- tell the election workers you moved and ask for an affidavit ballot. This is a special ballot that also acts as a voter registration address change. 




---ABSENTEE VOTING---
The deadline to request an absentee ballot by mail has passed. You can still request an absentee ballot in person at your county Board of Elections until November 2. Even if you requested an absentee ballot, you can choose to vote in person instead.

If you have an absentee ballot, return it now, in person if possible. You can return the ballot in person to your county board of elections.

• Sullivan County Board of Elections: 100 North St, Monticello 12701
• Ulster County Board of Elections: 284 Wall St, Kingston 12401

The ballot must be postmarked or handed in by election day, November 3.

You can track the status of your absentee ballot if you vote in Orange County or Ulster County.

---EARLY VOTING---
Early voting in New York ended on Sunday, November 1.  There is no voting on Monday, November 2. Election day is Tuesday, November 3.




---ELECTION DAY VOTING---
Election day is Tuesday, November 3, from 6:00 am to 9:00 pm. You can vote in person even if you requested an absentee ballot. You must vote at your designated polling location.
