Senator Kevin Thomas had been working to assist residents and those on the front lines with Covid-19 relief efforts. Last month, he launched the Community Information & Resource Guide to provide residents with accurate, up-to-date information on the pandemic and government actions taken at state, local, and federal levels.
The guide is continuously updated and includes a range of topics, including testing information, guidance for seniors, school meal availability, loan guidance and resources for small businesses, employment protection assistance and volunteer opportunities. It can be accessed at nysenate.gov/coronavirusresources.
He partnered with The Cotillion Restaurant to provide a food truck to medical personnel and hospital staff at Nassau University Medical Center on April 2. And, on April 14, he partnered with the Federation of American Indian Relief and the Muslim Community of New York to donate 500 N95 face masks to Nassau University Medical Center.
Senator Thomas and FAIR Chairman Imran Pasha delivered the masks to Dr. Anthony Boutin, NUMC president and chief executive officer, last Tuesday morning.
"It's incredibly inspiring to see our community come together to support one another in times of need," Thomas said. "I want to thank Federation of American Indian Relief and the Muslim Community of New York for their amazing efforts in securing these masks, and thank all of our health care workers who are out there fighting a difficult battle for us. We are here to support you in every way that we can."
