“The Governor and Mayor's decision to issue a city-wide curfew and double the City's police presence is very alarming.
I find it hard to believe that an increased police presence will deescalate the current angst, pain, and anger our communities feel. We’ve seen countless instances in the past few days of how police brutality persists in these protests. A curfew won’t fix that, and it most certainly won’t address the root of the issue. Instead, we need to listen to the grievances and take immediate action to end police brutality and structural racism, here in New York and across our country.”
