What is the Census and Why is it Important?
• The Census is a survey, determining how many people live in the United States and where.
• It is required by law that each household participates and it determines where Federal funds are spent across the country. The more people in a specific area, the more funding is allotted for important community resources like schools, public hospitals, and emergency responders.
• The Census is also used to determine how many federal representatives each state has.
• This information is used for the next 10 years
