Senator Boyle
June 25, 2020
Due to the progress we have made in combating COVID-19, the rates of infection have reduced and Long Island will be moving into Phase 3 as of today, Wednesday June 24. Phase 3 includes mainly food and personal care services (and some other miscellaneous services) with limitations on capacity and certain safety and health precautions.
More specifically, Pase 3 includes the following:
- Indoor Dining (at 50% capacity maintaining tables at 6ft apart)
- Nail salons
- Hair salons
- Barber shops
- Tanning salons
- Waxing centers
- Spas
- Tattoo and piercing parlors
- Cosmetic practices
- Professional offices
- Retail stores
- Real estate
- Rental and leasing
- Car dealerships
- DMV offices by appointment only
DMV offices will not be processing enhanced ID license upgrades. The deadline for upgrading your NYS license to an enhanced license has been postponed until 2021.
All industries must adhere to the standard of maintaining 6ft apart and no more than half capacity, as well as, following specific cleaning standards. If you need more information, please visit here.
